Why Tagaro

Almost everyone has started a journal at some point, and almost everyone has given it up. Not for lack of things to tell: a blank page every night asks too much.

Tagaro asks for just enough. A word, a photo or a few seconds of your voice are enough to keep a day. Each day becomes a stone sewn to the others on a thread, and over the years that thread is your life, up close and from afar.

How it is made

A journal is for one person: no profiles, no followers and nothing to share. There are no ads and no analytics, in the app or on this website, and the AI is optional. Without it, Tagaro keeps everything the same.

Tagaro, the one who lives in your journal, says little: at night he asks you one thing, never “why”, and on hard days he keeps quiet. He is made to keep you company, not to keep you hooked.

Who is behind it

Utropia is José’s studio: he designs, builds and writes Tagaro. Other apps come from here too, such as Fervida, a guide to fermenting at home.

José signs the guides in Learn and the questions in the prompt library. How they are written, with what sources and how much AI, is in our methodology.

Write to us

If you have an idea, a question or something doesn’t work as it should, write to hello@tagaro.app. José answers, not a robot.

A journal that asks for just enough

Tagaro keeps each day in a word, a photo or your voice, and at night it asks you one thing. Coming soon to iPhone: leave your email and we’ll write to you the day it’s out.

Only to write to you once, the day Tagaro is out on the App Store. You can leave whenever you like. Privacy.
